ABOUT THE PROGRAM.

Waves Private Equity Association is proud to announce that we will be launching our inaugural analyst program. The program offers an opportunity for analysts to gain hands-on learning experience in private equity, real estate private equity, and other finance roles. We intend to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world applications, teaching students valuable skills such as Leveraged Buyouts, 3-Statement Models, and Discounted Cash Flow Valuations. As an initiative committed to career development, we aim to accelerate career opportunities for our members.

Program Logistics.

During the first week of the fall/spring semester, prospective analysts will have the opportunity to apply for the program. Following the application window, interview invitations will be sent out to top candidates. After the interview, applicants will receive an email from the WPEA executive board determining admittance to the analyst program.

Analysts will have weekly workshops where they will be taught the fundamentals of company valuation, with four-weeks dedicated to the basics of DCFs, and four-weeks to LBOs. Analysts will then apply their knowledge to complete two financial modeling projects of their own, where they will present their analysis and ideas to the executive board.

  • Required Projects

    Analysts will conduct deep-market research and Excel-based modeling, with all work vetted by industry experts. To boost career prospects, finished projects will be showcased on our company LinkedIn and in personal portfolios. This is direct, hands-on preparation for the professional world.

  • Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)

    Analysts can choose any company in the semiconductor industry.

  • Leveraged Buyout (LBO)

    Analysts can choose a Sotware around a Service (SaaS) company.
