About WPEA.

WPEA prepares members for careers in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Markets, and the entire spectrum of highly competitive finance careers. Our process mirrors the structure of top firms, combining intensive technical preparation with essential professional development.

Through bi-weekly meetings, we serve the Pepperdine community by providing students with access to guest speakers, top firms, and career development opportunities, equipping them with the technical and soft skills needed to land internships and full-time roles.

As a club, Waves Private Equity Association embodies the Pepperdine ethos of preparing students to live a life of purpose, service, and leadership through mentorship and community. WPEA and its members envision the club as a way to leave behind a positive legacy for the next generation of students.

“Freely ye receive, freely ye give” (Matthew 10:8)

What We Offer.

  • WPEA has hosted numerous guest speakers from top tier firms including Goldman Sachs, AXOS Bank, Blackstone, CBRE, Mercer, BioStrive & Project Destined.

  • In November 2025, WPEA was honored to have facilitated a recruitment panel for Pepperdine and K1 Investment Management. We are currently in the works for bringing more opportunities onto Malibu Campus.

  • The Analyst Program is a newly launched initiative where students have a chance at gaining crucial financial experience learning DCFs and LBOs, culminating into creating their own projects on companies of choice.

Waves Private Equity Association encourages Pepperdine students to apply for Project Destined’s Real Estate Private Equity Virtual Internship Program. CEO Cedric Bobo leads the program and dives deep into the fundamentals of underwriting and teaching students important financial metrics over the span of five weeks, followed by a competition to underwrite three deals on chosen multifamily properties. We were very honored to have hosted Cedric as a guest speaker in November of 2025, as he inspired the mission of Waves Private Equity Association.

We believe that Project Destined can impact student success at Pepperdine as Cedric’s program led career pathways for thousands of students to top tier firms.
